2022.01.18 13:20 gamertag2200 Baker Acted once
Hey there I'm an ROTC cadet and I was Baker Acted once at 17 (I believe) and I've never been on medication. It was at a time where I was pretty depressed and had suicidal idealization but I've never had it again afterwards. If anything I've made changes to my lifestyle and I believe I am better now. I was brought to a hospital in ambulance and was cleared out after 4 days (the main doctor was out on day 3).
Will this affect my chances heavily? Or can I possibly get a waiver?

2022.01.18 13:20 reneemegs88 Night Sweats at 3+ months PP
I'm almost four months postpartum from the loss of our son at thirty weeks via c-section, and the night sweats are now here with a vengeance. I honestly can't remember very much about the nights in the first few weeks home, but I think I only got them once or twice. Then, maybe here and there over the next couple of months. Now I'm a few days from four months, and they have ramped up. Waking up soaked and stinky every night!
I've done my fair share of googling, but it's hard/annoying to find info for this when you're also dealing with a loss. I have a doctor's appointment this week to check on hormone/thyroid levels too, but am wondering if anyone here has any further insight to share.

2022.01.18 13:20 madebyporter INTJs use Ne+Ti too, but to serve Ni+Te.
Ne+Ti are the mature shadow functions for the INTJ, meaning you're good at these functions, but the world places low value on them. How the INTJ will use Ne+Ti is different than how an INTP/ENTP will use them.
INTJ uses Ni+Te, which sits in the Ego Block. The ego block is all about the parts of you that you're strong at & enjoy doing. Also the ego block is about the parts of you that the world values from you The world values it because you show passion within it. People love confidence, and passion reeks confidence. So what do I mean by value? That means strangers will pay you money or time (attention) to see you do these Ni+Te skills. They serve a purpose to others.
Ne+Ti sits in the Id block. The Id is the mature part of your shadow self. Usually these functions have high mental age, but you're not as passionate about it. If you're not passionate about it, the world won't pay for it. When you do use Ne+Ti, its to serve Ni+Te, the functions people do pay to see. Yes, I love to learn, but people don't pay me to learn everything I can, like a full-time designer, they pay me to solve a problem.
So what the hell is Ne+Ti?
Ne is Extraverted Intuition, which is a gathering type of extraverted perception. You're looking at things in the real world and coming up with new ways of using it. Like if a plug is loose in the wall outlet, you push a dresser against the plug as a quick fix so the plug don't fall out. That's the parts of your brain, doing certain things, that you can quickly understand, that fall under the categorization of Extraverted Intuition, so you can figure out a way to keep the plug from falling out the outlet.
Ti is Introverted Thinking, which is about reasoning from subjective logic. In a general sense, it's all about obtaining deep knowledge, or specializing in disciplines, ideas or ways of doing things. So going deep into software engineering, or deeper into AI engineering, or even deeper into the Python language (great for machine learning).
Mixing these two together can have a person come up with General Relativity.
So what do these functions have to do with the INTJ setup?
How many INTJ's here tend to get into a discipline/skillset and then get bored at year 5 or 10?
From my experience, I tend to learn new disciplines after getting bored with the last discipline. What makes me fulfilled is not the deep learning of a discipline, it's the creation of something that solves a problem using that discipline. Here's where that ego kicks in, that Ni+Te.
My first realized goal came to me when I was 15 and that was to fix things with design. I enjoyed it when I started learning design, HTML & CSS at 13 from building websites. Even when I first started those disciplines, it wasn't out the love for design. I just wanted to share all the Pokemon cheat codes I curated from other sites. It was 1999 and I wanted to create a cheat code website like CheatCC.com but just for Pokemon games. I had a feeling that Pokemon was the future and people were still using magazines for their cheats. Got the site up and share it with my friends. Glorious. After that, I moved on to freelancing at 17, first helping my step-mom setup her business website for her Grills (jewelry) business. My first payment was a grill. I wore it proudly.
19 years later, Im running a collective agency solving digital system problems. In that time, I've also spent at least 2+ years learning business (2001), music production & theory (2004), photography (2007), marketing (2007) & audio engineering (2012). The latest disciplines that I'm learning are economics (2009), psychology (2014), physics (2015), some neuroscience (2018) and now real estate (2019). This is Extraverted Thinking with Introverted Thinking serving. Just learn enough to be at least B-level, knowing enough to give direction, understand the problems at hand, and hire the right people to solve it at an A-level.
Now why not just stay in Design (1999) and just be a full-stack designer. I've tried it and I found it quite boring. When you get bored, your bosses start to notice and when your quality starts to dip, it's time to leave. So I thought leaving 9-5 design jobs would work. Then I tried design freelance. My goal here is to work on cool UI, UX design projects. Soon that got boring. Solving the same problem, over and over again. Tried the same thing with just being a Front-end Developer and same difference. Finally I found the cure.
What if I helped brands with setting up their digital systems? I'm able to work in most of my fields of choice like design, software engineering, business & photography. It works with the Ni function, seeing the vision of the system, the engineering, the layout, all in your head, ready to go. Then the Te: producing the projects, overseeing the design & development (product engineer basically), and handling the business (goals, finance, admin). Hire out the long detail parts to specialists like UI Designers, React Developers or Project Managers. Great to hand off to great ENTP/INTP/ESTP/ISTP specialists. People are paying me for that.
So whats the moral of this story for INTJs?
From my experience, as an INTJ, I feel fulfilled when there's a mission or bigger picture vision. When its time to solve the problem, thats when I learn about the needed discipline as much as I can, almost like an INTP-lite. Once I'm done with those type of problems, I go learn something else based on the next problem. When I just explored one discipline at a time, I was bored. Solving problems has priority over 75%+ specialization. 60-75% specialization is fine for me!
If you feel stuck at your job doing one thing, you're bored, getting okay pay, not feeling fulfilled, feeling slightly depressed; then you might be serving the wrong pair of functions, Ne+Ti. Maybe find a role where you get to work on multiple disciplines you enjoy, or if you have the runway, start a business fusing 2-3 disciplines together. Or you can start multiple businesses (one at a time of course) that serve a vision you want to accomplish in life.
If you're an INTJ that enjoys doing that one discipline all day, everyday, and even have a bucket list just for that discipline, you might be an INTP 😂.
Let me know if this was helpful to anyone!
Note: INTPs/ENTPs also use Ni+Te. But since Ni+Te is in the Id block, taking one discipline and exploring all the possibilities within that discipline takes priority over solving big problems or that big visionary plan that may need said discipline. For example, Bill Gates love for exploring everything within software engineering led him to create the Altair BASIC with Paul Allen, which led to the creation of Microsoft. Microsoft definitely explored almost every area of software and computer science, from operating systems, to word processing to gaming. I'm surprised they don't sell car software yet, lol.

2022.01.18 13:20 TKB21 Can an olio sacrum be achieved using microplaned citrus zest over peels?
Given the fact that you're not getting the surface area of a peel, I was wondering if zest would be enough to extract the oils of the citrus' skin? Although with a Y-Peeler I'm able to get whole pieces it's extremely hit or miss getting peels with no pith, no matter the quality of the lemon or how delicate I am peeling them. With the microplane I'm usually able to get no pith and with that in mind have been making lemon infused simple syrups instead to avoid compromising with a peeler and getting bitter drinks. The simple syrup obviously doesn't give me the kick olio sacrum provides, which is why I'd love to know your opinions here as to whether zest would yield good results before trying. Thanks!

2022.01.18 13:20 Remarkable-Shine-63 Strange experience! iPhone 12
Hey guys, so I was watching a video on YouTube and a full page notification flashed up on my phone, I didn’t get chance to read it all, all I saw was that it said ‘Primer Testing’ and I could click the usual blue writing at the bottom of the screen to accept or deny access. I didn’t get chance to screenshot or deny this, it disappeared and my video came back on pretty quickly.
Does anyone at all have any ideas what this was!?
